Uncle Guy's House is the original former slave quarters built in 1796.  This Downstairs level features the original wide plank floors, whitewashed brick nogging walls and has a king size bed, working fireplace and  private bathroom with enclosed oval whirlpool tub/shower.  The B&B rate for this room is $295 per day with four course prie-fixe dinner available most evenings at $49 per person.

This cottage's name dates back to when it was originally built and was named for Uncle Guy (no known last name), one of the plantation's original slaves, the foreman of aproximately 20 slave field hands who lived here.  This lower level was their gathering room with cooking foreplace and sleeping loft upstairs reached by ladder.  The slave cemetary and commemorative stone marker where he and seventy five other "loyal and faithful" former slaves are buried is located in the grove in the adjacent field.
