Proposing marriage can be unsettling, even worrisome… we get it!
You’re trying to decide how to plan the perfect proposal in Virginia and ask one of the most important questions of your life, yet do it in a romantic and creative (and maybe even photogenic) way. Between Pinterest and Hollywood, you’ve seen so many options, it’s easy to get confused. Do you choose simple and sincere, “Will you marry me… because…” (Love Story); or over-the-top extravagant, such as renting-out Tiffany’s and offering any ring in the store (Sweet Home Alabama); Do you run through the streets saying, “You want the rest of your life to start as soon as possible” (When Harry Met Sally), or do you simply hide a ring in your cargo shorts and propose while sorting laundry (He’s Just Not That Into You)?
Whatever the case, just know the best proposal idea is the one that captures the essence of YOUR relationship.

We have a few suggestions as you plan your proposal…
There are hundreds of locations at Prospect Hill where you could actually “pop the question,” but our favorites include… Barefoot in the grass… Under our traditional wedding gazebo… Beneath the canopy of our historic tree garden… In front of our rustic barns… Beside the pastures (with alpacas & horses watching curiously)… Before the Parlor fireplace… and in the historic Rose Room (which hosted its first wedding in 1865)!

One last idea for a romantic proposal in Virginia… how about we deliver breakfast-in-bed and when the plate is uncovered… Voila… there’s the ring!
